After being touted as revolutionary, Intralase SBK meets expectations.

Two full years since its integration as a Standard of Care at Focus, Intralase SBK is delivering on its promises. Outcomes routinely achieved by the first week with Intralase SBK match those results achieved with PRK at the three to six month mark; reduced healing time; and a level of visual acuity that normally exceeds what patients ever had with glasses or contacts, with many seeing better than 20/20 post-surgery.

Intralase SBK patients often see significant results after a much shorter recovery time than with a standard PRK or Lasik procedures.

That said, everyone’s healing process is unique.

“We always caution that healing is an individual matter and that while some people are back to work and sometimes even driving the day after surgery, recovery can take longer with some people,” explains Focus Medical Director, Dr. David Edmison. “We believe that patients need to have reasonable expectations heading into any procedure.”
